There is a wide range of Christian Lies to choose from. The currently popular:
There shall be a Rapture just before the Great Tribulation.
Compare this to the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27; see also Revelations 13, 14 and 15.
Do not give food and drink for the flesh, when you see those in need; for what good is it, that a man should be fed, but then go to Hell? Rather give them the Bread of Life (the Word), so the spirit may go to Heaven, and let God feed them on earth.
Compare this to the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 25:41-46. A little charity on earth just might go an eternal way.
Only careful study of the Word, preferably at an accredited institution, can truly clarify the Word.
The epistles of Paul, when addressed to the Body of Christ, were addressed to the members of the congregations; all were at liberty to read and understand, to ask questions and discuss that which seemed unclear. See also the words of Jesus in Matthew 10:18-20; Mark 13:11;Luke 21:14-15.
The idea of mandatory study before understanding (note: not being learned by one who knows, but examining man-made books), is aimed at eradicating the Holy Ghost's power in one's life and over one's mind and tongue. Which is why people flock to the Prosperity Whores, who preach prosperity, riches and a long life on earth for God's Children. That is not promised by Christ, at all. The part about persecutions and being hated by the World (which is in the MAJORITY, by the way) for the Name of Jesus Christ, get played down to a niche where only the hard-core fanatics will look.
Studying the Word, is good. But it is better to be guided by the Holy Ghost, God's Spirit of Wisdom and Discernment, than by the words of men and women that promise heaven on earth. If you do not get assaulted by satan or its forces in any form, it means you are not a threat to it. And that means that you do not do the Will of the Father. And those who do not do the Will of the Father, shall never enter the kingdom of Heaven.
Now Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, was baptized, first with the water, then with the Holy Ghost. He was anointed, not by a priest or a prophet, but by a woman, who was Saved even before His crucifiction; by merely believing in Him to be the Messiah, she listened to His words (Luke 10:38-42) and later anointed His feet (Mat. 26:10-13; Mark 14:3-9; John 12:3).
And, typical of the average christian of today, the one who wanted the money the most (Judas Iscariot, the betrayer and thief) was the first to mention a charity or fund for the poor (Mat. 26:8-9; Mark 14:4-5; John 12:5-6).
Jesus Christ, is the Last Anointed of God, to be King over the Jews (Mat. 27:37; Mark 15:26; Luke 23:38; John 19:19). He died (when the next king of the Jews would have taken over from the predecessor, according to the ways of the Old Testament), but was resurrected (which means, He got alive again in His same Earthly Body, yet without the Blood (literally); for He was then Spirit, which merely carried the Earthly Body until He went up to Heaven.
Therefore, there is no place for a King of the Jews (who, since then, were all people from all lands, nations, tongues and races, that accept Him as their Saviour and Only way to Salvation) on earth any more; for should any become this King, he shall proclaim Jesus Christ to be dead, buried and a waste of Faith to believe on Him. Those who proclaim themselves to be the anointed of God, shall, literally, have Hell to pay.
The high priests were also anointed, from Aaron and his sons, through the ages (Exodus 29:7; 30:30; Lev. 8:12). But ONLY the high priest, of which there was only, ever, one at a time. But Since Jesus Christ is our Eternal High Priest before God, who's own Blood is sacrificed as our Eternal Sin Offering (Hebrews 2; 3:1; 4:14; Actually, this is the main topic of the Letter to the Hebrews). And the high priest was only anointed when the predecessor was dead. Again, Hell to pay, for those who claim themselves to be the Anointed of God; for they themselves, proclaim that they are preaching a religion based on a dead man, instead of the Living God.
The prophets, with one exception (Elisha was anointed by Elijah), were not anointed. They were chosen by God, and cleansed by His Spirit, to do the work that He had set for them. See, the Holy Ghost did not come into the prophets in the Old Testament, for otherwise Christ would not be the First of the Prophets to receive Him. But the Spirit came over them, and guided their ways and words by the Father's command. In the Old Testament, the Temple was where the people had to go to worship God, for that was the House of God. But since Jesus Christ came to earth, we can worship Him wherever we are; for since He walked the earth as a man, we must go and worship God in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:19-26). The Spirit is sent to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour; the Truth comes by accepting the Spirit, for He is Truth.
But this would seem to contradict 2 Corinthians 1:21 and also, 1 John 2:20&27. Yes, there it is written that God's people, the Children of Abraham through Jesus Christ, are anointed of God by the Holy Ghost. For the same Spirit which hath anointed Jesus Christ, is the Spirit which is inside God's children. Do not be mislead, to take that to mean that we are the Anointed of God; for Christ Himself, compared God's Kingdom with a man who goes on travel, and leaves his servants each to his own duty (Mat. 24:45-51; Mat. 25:14-30; Luke 12:35-48; Luke 19:11-27).
God sends His Holy Ghost to those who accept His Love Offering in Jesus Christ wholeheartedly; but He abhors those who willfully exalt themselves, teaching doctrines of men as the Will and Word of God (See Matthew 23 for a GREAT example). And those who want to be teachers, keep in mind that God's Grace is limited. It is limited to you teaching His Word, for teachers shall receive the greater judgement. It is limited to you, teachers, teaching the Word unadulterated by humanism and human right, despising the Prosperity Harlotry and divorcing yourselves from the Poverty Teachings. For God shall deal unto each that which He needs you to have to glorify His Name. He shall deal riches to those who need it to teach the rich, poverty to those who need to teach the poor, the Spirit of Wisdom to ruin the wisdom of men and intelligence to berate those who follow the teachings of fools. (Not the Motley Fools, mind you; the fools who claim to be able to disprove God's Word).
God's Grace is also limited to those who have heard the Gospel and repented from their old lives of sin and have chosen, to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. For those who have heard and rejected the Truth, have no salvation left.
Jesus Christ is forever the same and shall remain so Eternally. To God be the Glory, for His Grace And Love and Justice:
Grace - towards those who have accepted His Gift of Love;
Love - towards all mankind, sending His Son to die and live again so we need not be damned;
Justice - to damn those who reject His Offering, thereby sealing His children's Eternal Life with Love.
For those who reject Love, cannot love. And in Love, there is no sin; and in Sin, there is no love.

The leaders of the congregations and meetings are the anointed of God
To put it blunt: this is probably the worst form of modern-day humanism, and man-worship, and self-worship. Throughout the history of God's People, the anointed of God, was the ruler of over the people. He was the king of the people and over the land.Now Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, was baptized, first with the water, then with the Holy Ghost.
